Below is a list of projects I have been involved with.

ZoneWize / the local shopping mall on your mobile.

ZoneWize delivers a "plug and play" marketing solution for shopping malls and their retailers. The marketing solution makes excessive use of the mobile phones accessible amongst the younger generation also characterized as the "sms- generation".

As a shopping mall visitor with a mobile phone you are able to browse this week's best offers in pictures and text. The many offers are segmented by sex, age and product categories. Read more about ZoneWize.

Playcharts.com / music video playlists.

Playcharts.com is all about the latest and most popular Dance, House, Trance, Electronic and "remix" music and music videos.

Presented in two different playlists, Playcharts contains more than 7 hours of uninterrupted and continuously playing Dance, House, Trance and Electronic. Visit Playcharts.com.

The idea behind playcharts was to fill a gap in the market for music playlists on the Internet. The vision was a music site where you could discover and play popular music charts of all genres from all over the world.

The site was created as a 'live market resurch project' to determine the potential opportunity for the 'music playlist concept'. Playcharts also served as my business developer bachelor's exams project.

The big potential wasn't there, but playcharts is still live in a narrowed version.

Visionark / the automated cloakroom.

In countries where the winter months are whet, snowy and cold there is a need for cloak- and luggage rooms at nightclubs, theaters, conferences, concerts and shopping malls. Often these are manned and professional driven business divisions providing the service of storing people's coats.

The business idea is to offer these businesses an unmanned installation that will eliminate the ever increasing expensive manual manpower otherwise required to run a professional cloak- and luggage room. Read more about Visionark.

Plexifix / replacement of windscreens and hatches for motor- and sailboats.

When a series of sail- or motorboat goes out of production, so does some of the special designed parts for the boat series. Boat windows and hatches made from acryl (best known from the trade name Plexiglas), are amongst these special parts.

A plastics fabricator in Denmark Dansk Specialplast (owned by my dad) produces these aftermarket boat windows and hatches with great success. The factory has never done anything to promote thise products but customers come from all over the country to get aftermarket parts anyhow. Customers find out solely through word of mouth.

The reason why I'm involved is to help the business improve sales and make it a bit more professional. My answer to this was to setup a dedicated business unit and a direct marketing campaign. Visit the website Plexifix.dk.

IntegraDoor / a door that canīt crush fingers.

A closing door can crush fingers. One way to solve this problem is to optimize the hinges. A team of 6 students (including myself) came up with the idea to design a new type of door hinge that would eliminate the possibility for getting fingers caught between the door and door frame. After 6 months of intensive resurch, market analysis and several prototypes we came up with a solution (which we patented). Our solution was popular amongst many architects who found the design very exciting because of the new look and the possibility to integrate automatic door openers inside the hinge itself.

After analyzing the door and hinges industry, business procedures, sales channels and market leaders we concluded that the industry was very conservative and difficult to change. Were we to begin a business selling these new patented hinges, we would need a lot of "lobby power" to get enough influence to make any sales. Therefore we also looked at the possibility to sell the concept to one of the players on the market. We quickly discovered that in order to make our hinges concept attractive, it would need a lot more technical development to meet demands of various regulations. Considering our position as students, we decided to freeze the project. There has been no further development to this day.

Jesma / advanced weighers.

Jesma produces advanced weighers for various industries like food, grain, feed milling and chemicals.

At Jesma they had a 'hunch' that the food industry needed a new type of weigher. A team of 5 students (including myself) was given the task to further investigate this hunch. Our task was to investigate the market to find out what need the food industry truly had. Over a period of 5 months we visited, intervened and analyzed a big number of food productions. It turned out that some in the food production industry could gain some advantages from this potential new weigher system. Thereby we conducted a cost benefit analysis to determine whether it would be profitable to begin further technical development.

The cost benefit was positive, so we created 3 different rough technical concept designs including estimates of production costs.

Jesma choose one of the concept designs and began development of the weigher system.

OnPist / skiing maps accessed quick and easy.

A lawyer in Herning / Denmark wanted to realize an idea for keeping and handling skiing maps.

A team of 4 students (including myself) was offered the opportunity to further develop this idea. In return we would get a stake in the business opportunity. Over a period of 4 months we made some technical trail models that successfully simulated the end product. Furthermore we conducted a market analysis foretelling a less fortunate future for the product and idea. In general the market analysis concluded that the average skier / snowboarder did not see the present situation with handling a skiing map as a problem.

The project was canceled.

Struer Museum / attractions to make a museum more attractive.

Struer museum was expanding its exhibition areas, and new attractions were needed to make them exiting. A team of five students (including myself) worked with Struer Museum over a period of 5 months to develop ideas for attractions. Some of the best ideas were further developed to a stage where a team of prototype builders could realize the ideas.
